Day 3: Slow and Steady

Yesterday I got up to start my walk, stood up, got ready and then I put my shoes on…that didn’t go well.  My blisters were very painful to stand on and far worse once I started to walk around in my house. I could hardly put weight on my heels.  So, I decided to give myself an extra day to rest and let my feet heal up a bit since clearly I pushed them too far on Saturday.  Best decision I could have made.  I woke up this morning to my feet feeling infinitely better.

I switched to my strapped sandals instead of closed back walking shoes which made the pain lessen even further.  Since learning my lesson about pushing myself too far too soon, I decided to cut back on my miles significantly.  I walked through a beautiful section of Orange and Villa Park on a bike path then made my way through a bit of Anaheim and into Placentia.  Tonight I get to sleep in my bed again for the last time for a presumably long while.  Tomorrow should be another relatively easy day to let my feet and legs heal a bit more.
