Yesterday I stayed at my friends, Jacob and Saul’s, house. They were kind enough to allow me to keep my cart at their place for the last week since my trip was delayed. We went to dinner with most of my friends before my journey really begins and I won’t be nearby to see them.
This morning I started my first day with my hobo cart. Its a nice little jogging stroller thing meant for kids that I re-purposed to hold all my shit and be my home away from home. I dumped about 10 lbs of stuff out of my backpack into my cart and hit the road. This cart is awesome. It makes walking so much easier and every pound off my back makes my legs that much happier and tolerable at the end of the night. Everything is easier….. unless I’m walking uphill. Pushing 100+ lbs is not very easy uphill. Today’s walk took me right through my beautiful hometown of Diamond Bar which is, unfortunately, almost entirely made of hills. Luckily, I’m staying with another friend tonight and he made me a big, delicious dinner. So, needless to say, tonight I will be sleeping like a log. I may never wake up again.
