We are so excited to read about your adventure! We have so many questions… you’re lucky we didn’t know more about this during Thanksgiving – hahaha. We would have asked (1) how many pairs of shoes will this take? (2) do you carry all of the food you eat and just stop and buy more or do you stop and pick up care packages that are pre-prepped food? (3) is all this walking on a trails or a highways, roads, etc..? (4) do you ever get a hotel or is this all camping? (5) what if you need help? (6) can we visit you along the way? (7) SOCKS?!?! Seriously you need very comfy socks! (8) what about coming home… do you just turn around and walk back?

Hi Kimmie!
1) starting with 1 pair of walking shoes and one pair of sandals for hotter days but I’ll probably need to buy another pair or two of shoes along the way.
2) I’ll carry about 7 days worth with me and pick up more as I run low. Every once in a while I’ll have a few care packages sent out to me.
3) all highways and roads
4) the vast majority will be camping but also I’ll take a couch if it’s offered to me any day. A lot of it will be camping in people’s yards if they’ll let me.
5) I’ve got an emergency satellite beacon thing if I really need it but I’m relying mostly on myself to solve my problems.
6) Absolutely!
7) I’ve got a bunch of wool ones for walking and some big fluffy ones for sleeping.
8) I’m gonna fly home. If I have the money left in my budget I’d love to do first class for once in my life but I doubt I’ll have the extra room haha
