Hello and welcome to my blog.  These are my first posts ever so bare with me if its a little rough.

My name is Parker Rebensdorf and I’m setting out to do something stupid. Stupid, crazy, dangerous and long.  I’m planning on walking across the United States, from coast to coast.

It is probably the dumbest thing I have ever attempted but dammit if I’m not excited to try.  In my next few posts I’ll be going over some of the information about my trip.  Ill be covering why, the route, preparation, gear, and my plan.

The main purpose of my blog is to keep memories of my trip but also on a very personal level I want to keep track of how I am feeling, my reasoning for doing things etc.  These posts will be relatively uncensored, not in an attempt to be crass or to bum anyone out but to give a realistic sense of what it takes to walk across the United States.  It will serve as an accurate reminder of my experiences for me to share in the future but also as a guide of sorts for anyone attempting to do it for themselves.
